Achieved a hole-in-ones on 2011-04-15 @ CORDOVA BAY (RIDGE) GOLF COURSE located in Victoria, BC, Canada

Hole: 4 | Length: 115 | Club Used: pitching wedge

I had a hip replaced in October and this was my first round out after getting the official OK and hitting some buckets over the past few weeks. After narrowing in for the first 3 holes, I hit a nice little wedge which we thought might be short, but hit about 15 feet on the green, and then rolled 10 feet into the hole, as pretty as can be. I guess the bionic hip works.

Debated club selection for several minutes. It was raining and the green is elevated. Pin was located front left. Ball flew directly into the hole no bounce! No feeling like it in golf.

    Double Aces on Opening Day

July 7, 2010. Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Most golfers have played in a tournament where there is a hole in one contests to win a car, but very few have managed the ace required to claim the prize. At Highland Pacific Golf’s 18 hole opening day on June 5, Victoria golfer (and Highland Pacific regular) Brick Miller stepped up to the par 3, 165 yard 8th hole tee and hit a picture perfect shot that landed on the green and rolled right into the cup for a hole in one, winning him a Subaru Impreza sponsored by local car dealership Saunders Subaru.

No one was expecting that a few minutes later Mark Nelson would get the second hole in one of the day on the same hole, winning a second car. “Bob Saunders told me that morning that he hoped someone would win his car, so he was doubly pleased to hear about Brick and Mark’s aces,” says Anney Fagan, Marketing Coordinator for Highland Pacific.

Saunders Subaru has never given away two cars for the same event before. “It’s great that Mark got a car too, it couldn’t happen to a better guy,” said Brick Miller, the first winner. Only three tournaments a year in North America on average have two hole in one car winners, an auspicious occurrence for Highland Pacific’s official opening day.

Highland Pacific Golf was created for golfers who want to enjoy a scenic, challenging course that is playable all year round. The Pacific Nine, with its incredible vistas and rolling fairways, was opened in October 2008 and the Highland Nine opened June 5, 2010, completing the championship, par 71 course. Total course yardage is 6,603 yards.

Highland Pacific was named one of British Columbia’s top courses by The Globe and Mail’s Golf and Travel writer Brian Kendall.

Highland Pacific Golf was recognized in the “Top 100 for 2008”, “Top 100 for 2009” and the “Top 100 for 2010” rankings done by Golf Range Magazine, one of only three ranges in BC to win that distinction.
