BUYER BEWARE...This course does NOT HONOR passes purchased in advance, beyond their stamped date, even if you are assured they will at the time of purchase. Huge disappointment for us and won't return.

Webmaster Comment - this is one side of the story, we all do not know all the details behind the type of coupon, certificate purchased and the restrictions, Perhaps someone from Arrowsmith will see this and provide some feedback to append to this unfavorable review.

It took over 4 hours to play a 9 hole course and a par 3 to boot. The group that I was with could not believe it took that long. It was too much.

Mt. Douglas is a very well manicured 9 hole course in my beautiful hometown of Victoria. The groundskeeper has done a terrific job of maintaining the greens this summer. The staff and regular golfers there are so friendly we can't wait to go back again and again.

We played this course recently and were thoroughly disappointed. It was better as an executive course. There is no flow to this course - the greens were slow and inconsistent - the cost was ridiculous considering the shape it was in and on several holes - we had no idea which direction we were to proceed. All 4 of us are avid island golfers and all have indicated we will not be back!!

Played on 2009-08-02 @ SUNNYDALE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB located in Courtenay, BC, Canada

I had an unpleasant experience playing at Sunnydale golf and country club in their annual Tillicum open tournament. Despite golf carts being available, I was refused rental because they claimed they had a "standing policy" about too many carts following the final groups on the last round. First of all the cart was for my son who was actually playing in one of the final groups and second there were other carts following the final groups. Their attitude was condescending and dismissive, their actions were arbitrary and discriminating, and as a visitor I felt I treated as a second class citizen and totally unwelcome.

Played on 2009-07-28 @ PHEASANT GLEN GOLF RESORT located in Qualicum beach, BC, Canada

It was great to play a course that is still in great shape even with the hot temperatures of late. The greens are fast and the fairways are lush. They have widened the fairway cuts and entrance ways to the greens since I last played it and it is both visually pleasing and well manicured. The day was great from the friendly greeting, to the complimentary range balls, on what has to be the best practice facility I have been on, to the great atmosphere on the deck following my round. It was well worth the $75.00 green fee and I can't wait to make a return visit. Well done Pheasant Glen!

I played Seven Hills the other day and really enjoyed it. It is very scenic and I saw many deer and other animals which were really enjoyable. But the real treasure was the course itself which includes many elevation changes, nice undulating greens and a good but challenging layout. Well worth the money. I also used their driving range and putting green which were both in great shape. :)

Played on 2009-03-03 @ ARBUTUS RIDGE GOLF CLUB located in Cobble Hill, BC, Canada

Great finishing holes and the views from the clubhouse as especially good...looking out over #18 in view of the ocean, mountains, islands and country side.

Very friendly staff and good value.

I visited several wineries that surround the course...check out Avrill Creek's pinot noir if you're in the area.

Played on 2008-05-09 @ LONG BEACH GOLF COURSE located in Ucluelet, BC, Canada

What a joke!. Nothing more than a glorified cow pasture. The locals refuse to play with anyone visiting, and all through my round I was playing behind three idiots who are tearing all over the place in a cart, and here's the real kicker, they were the greenkeepers for this place.
It could be a great little course if someone took a little initiative and did some work on it, but for now, leave the clubs at home folks, do not waste your money as it is a sad excuse for a course.

  • Dale Dymianiw of Victoria, BC, Canada

Played on 2008-04-01 @ CEDAR HILL MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE located in Victoria, BC, Canada

The course is average at best. More than anything, the number of rounds played on this municipal course takes its toll on the course. It's quite short but don't expect to shoot low scores as there are several twists and turns. General maintenance could be improved.
