The suite in Panorama we stayed in was beautiful, it had a great view. We only had one hiccup, they had a scheduled power outage from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon on one of the days we stayed, we were on the 5th floor and when trying to get outside, none of their emergency lighting worked, we had to use our cel phones to try and find the way out of the building. We did mention it to their head office.

The golf courses were very well maintained. The staff at Fairmont Mountainside Resort was best, excellent customer service in pro shop and on the course. We loved the golf and had great weather.

Thank you for all your help in booking our holiday. We will be contacting you again next year same time to schedule our annual golf vacation. Taralyn

Ross, thanks so much for organizing our BC golf holiday. We had a great time in spite of the weather!

St Eugene Mission is a lovely resort - food was good and staff were friendly. The resort has wonderful ambience and it was very clean and totally non-smoking.

We golfed at St. Eugene the first day - sunny and warm - great course. Wednesday it sprinkled on and off all day but we enjoyed Trickle Creek - very challenging course and beautiful views. Would love to go back when the weather is better. We passed on Shadow Mountain as it poured rain and we thought the course would be really soggy - and so would we. We asked about a rain check but they said we would need to discuss with you - based on our previous conversation, I gather that unless they closed the course, we are out of luck? (Editors note - Yes this typically the case however we will get Donna 2 rain checks)

On the whole though, it was a great getaway. Thanks again for your help in putting it together.

I just wanted to give you some feedback about my golf trip/package. I had a GREAT time. I had no problems with the Coast Capri Hotel, nor at the Okanagan Golf Club or at Gallagher's Canyon Club.

I found the Coast Capri Hotel to be in a good location, my room was clean and of good size. Also, it was in a very quiet location. The room was about half-way back and on the side facing Kelsey's Grill. I didn't use the swimming pool, but it looked good. The lobby and restaurant area was spacious and had a friendly ambience. The staff at the front desk was always friendly and professional. I would definitely stay there again, as well as recommend it to other travelers.

As for the golf courses, I loved all three of them. I found Gallagher's to be a little more of a challenge, but still played it well and had a good time with a couple of club members. The Bear and Quail Courses of the Okanagan Club are also "must play" and beautiful courses. I liked the Quail Course a little better because I liked the challenge of the 17th & 18th holes. They are beautiful finishing holes, both of which I parred. I also think that the Okanagan Club is a little more casual and felt a little more comfortable playing with the golfers that I was paired up with. The first day I was put in with three very nice friendly locals. When I played the Quail, I was paired up with a nice gentleman from Vancouver who was visiting your city, like me. I would definitely play all three again, but it will have to be after I try to play other courses in your area. All three courses are what I call "feel good" courses. These are courses that it feels good to be playing there. That makes my golf day.

Anyway, thank you again for all your help to make my golf vacation a memorable one.

Aloha, Randy

Thanks for organizing the golf Ross. We had a great time dispite the very chilly weather. We would all like to do Black Mtn again when it\'s warm and not so windy and snowy. We did enjoy The Rise and Canoe Creek as well. Very much spring conditions. We also loved the hotel in Salmon Arm (Podollan Inn) but can\'t say we were really taken with Kelowna\'s Accent Inn. Hope to be out that way again in the summer. (it will be summer some time won\'t it?)

Hey Ross. I thought I would drop you a line and let you know the golf trip was great. Canoe Creek was a great suggestion I probably enjoyed that the most out all 3 courses it was in mint condition.

The hotel was fabulous and they were great treated us very well. Thanks again for all the help and I will be in touch in regards to next years tourney.

A quick note to thank you once again for a wonderful golf weekend. Besides that minor glitch at Furry, everything went off like clock work. We were all in agreement that this was one of our better trips. We are back to Kananaskis next year and B.C. in 2011 when I look forward to working with you again.Your loyal customer,
Rick Albus - p.s. Having the Bears show up at the Chateau and Squamish was a nice touch.

Hi Ross,

Here is a pic of Ben and I on the Ridge Course at Predator Ridge. I just wanted to say that we had a great time and that planning the trip through you was most certainly one of the reasons why the trip was great.

The price we paid, and selection of tee times you made available was phenomenal. Many thanks.

Ross,
Just wanted to thank you for putting the golf trip together. We just returned last night and all 4 of us had great time.

Predator Ridge was the hi-lite as the golf and the accommodations were 1st class. We already discussed coming back next year when the Ridge course opens.

I strongly recommend paying the extra $$ and staying at Predator Resort. The golf course was perfect for a low handicapper as well as high one.The practice facilities, the food, and the staff were as good as I've seen, even the unpredictable weather was only a minor
inconvenience and it gave us an excuse to check out the Fitness Ctr after the round, which was a bonus.

The Rise was an interesting course, with incredible views but I don't think I would play it again as there were too many blind shots and strange holes. The last 4 holes were my favorite, even though I incurred a couple of penalty strokes. I'd only recommend it to low handicappers and short straight hitters. The staff & treatment was excellent.

Kelowna Springs was ok and it was nice to play an easier course on the last day. Thanks again Rick & the guys

Hi Ross, Just to let you know that our golf outing in Kamloops was a complete succes. The Hampton treated us well and provided a mini-suite in one of the rooms for our 'post-game review'. Rivershore gave us four pictures of beer on the house because of a 25 minute delay on our t-time. We all enjoyed The Dunes and managed to escape with only one hole of rain. The highlight for all of us was Tobiano. The weather was perfect, the course is spectacular and we all agreed it is a 'class act'. We will definitely be using your services next September in the Kelowna area. On behalf of the Yumper group, thanks for all your help. Best Regards, Bob

We had a great time in Vegas, but.....

Boy, were you right about golf in Vegas - - - there are much better options out there. Legacy was forgettable, but the other courses were very nice. Badlands is a great course with the most incredible houses/castles I\'ve seen on golf courses. Paiute reminds me of We Ko Pa in Scottsdale, but is not quite as good. Revere is fun in those canyons, but some of the holes were a disappointment.

Quite a test though. The canyon layout reminded me of Stone Tree in Navato, CA - Johnny Miller layout.

The weather was the tough part. The forecast was for high temp\'s and low wind. We got low 50\'s with winds in the high teen\'s with gusts to 50mph. It was a lot of work to be out there all day for 36 holes. The noise, cold and buffeting wind really wore us out. Being a lake bed, the air was full of sand and grit. After a while it was something other than golf.

We are now cured of 36 holes/day. It\'s one thing in great weather, but with the cold, etc. we have re-thought our priorities.

Because we had so much golf planned I sure wouldn\'t bother staying on the strip.

The best dinner was at Carnevito\'s in the Venetian. I\'ve been to Italy several times. The food at Carnevito\'s is authentic and good. It\'s set in the imitation Piazza as a sidewalk cafe. Incredible setting that I highly recommend.

The worst and most expensive was Carnevino\'s - - similar but different name. Mario Batali\'s rip off. The meat was excellent but under-cooked. Some of the side dishes were good, but most were average or just bad. The presentation of all but the meat was without artistry.

The wait staff were not restaurant people. They just read from a script and lacked the service gene necessary for a good experience. Bill for seven diners was $1,400 with wine. The wine was some of the cheapest on the list. After adding 20% for our large group the waiter laid the guilt on to get us tip even more. I thought the whole thing targeted guys with no training or experience with food who would buy the name, the huge steaks, etc.

So, again, you were right. Mesquite would have been much more fun and cheaper. If you book there the most incredibly beautiful course is Entrada - another Johnny Miller track.

I\'ll be back to firm up the Bend Oregon trip.

I talked up your service to everyone and made sure they have your contact information for Golf The World Vacation. Everything you touched worked out great. There were no surprises at any of the courses.

Hi Ross,

I greatly appreciate all the assistance in setting up our 35th \"Okanagan Master\'s\". Four rounds, three nights of a golf extravaganza for our 28 guys from Nanaimo! As usual, we had a blast! We stayed one night at Quaaout Lodge, played Talking Rock twice before moving on to Kamloops, staying at the Ramada Inn and golfing at Sun Rivers then The Dunes. (Would have liked to play Rivershore but it was not available). Here\'s our input:

Quaaout Lodge is an outstanding facility with great rooms, great hot tub, pool and steam room. Fantastic views. The staff were friendly and helpful but the food and beverage service was \"wanting\". The F & B staff were not overly busy but they seemed disorganized and untrained. It took (and I\'m not kidding) one and one half hours for three of us to get our dinner meal on Sunday June 5th. Also, several of our participants commented that they objected in principal to paying 12% HST, 7% B C Liquor Tax AND 5% First Nations Tax! Some of our group participated in the Sunday Brunch, which received high marks, and all 28 had dinner, breakfast and lunch after golf before departing. The quality of the \"from the menu\" meals was good.
At Talking Rock we found the staff friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. Our guys rated the course as excellent and very suitable for our diverse handicap group (8 - 28). Very good practice facilities with driving range having grass tees. The greens were slower than they looked! Many said they would enjoy playing all four rounds at Talking Rock and stay at the Lodge if the F & B dept. could get their act together.
At the Ramada Inn in Kamloops we found the staff friendly and accommodating and the rooms adequate for our needs. June 6th.,26 out of 28 watched game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals in the 3rd floor lounge, had dinner and enjoyed a few cold ones. The lounge staff was fantastic and the food good. Tuesday, June 7th was our wind up hosted banquet which was held in the same lounge. We had arranged to have a N Y Steak Bar-Be-Que. Sreaks were cooked to order then salad, vegetables and fixings, along with apple pies and whipped cream were set up buffet style. It was extremely well handled and our guys raved about the meal. Once again the two lounge servers were outstanding and the young gal who cooked the steaks did an outstanding job.
Breakfasts were buffet style in th 2nd floor restaurant. Great for golfers in a hurry.... handled well and we very much appreciated the kitchen and serving staff opening at 6:30 a m (instead of the usual 7:00 a m) enabling us to meet our 8:00 a m tee time at the Dunes. Food was tasty and plentiful. The Ramada is an older style hotel/motel but has been up-dated and generally suited our needs well. Very good large hot tub!
The Pro Shop, starter and restaurant staff at Sun Rivers were friendly and most accommodating. Good practice facilities. Some of our high handicapers found the course harder than most and struggled with the many \"blind\" shots. Lower handicapers generally enjoyed the challenge. Likely would select a different course next time.
The Pro at the Dunes requested that the event organizer sign the \"waiver\" for all power carts which was politely refused....instead each power cart driver signed the waiver accepting responsibility for bodily injury or property damage and we were on our way. Staff and owner Bill Bilton Jr were very friendly and most accommodating. Great new Clubhouse. The golf course was enjoyed by all even though some greens had been heavily fertilized that morning and a few greens were damaged. Seven foursomes....and the round took from three and a half hours for the first group to just under four hours for the last group. The course is very playable and suited our guys very well. We shall return! FYI our rough calculations indicate that our group spent between $38,000. and $40,000. for the entire 6 days most of us were on the road.
Thanks again Ross. Cheers!
Dave

Any of our future golf trips Ross will be handled through you and you company. Black Mountain was a true joy to play although the greens were a little slow, but that was understandable being they are brand new, great course. Once again Ross, thank you for everything you did to make it a very special kelowna golf trip.

I even forgot my actual passes that Ross sent me a couple weeks before the trip and I had to call him from the course and get him to fax them ASAP which he did…to the applause of our group! Anyways, look forward to booking with you again next year Ross, thanks again!

We would all like to pass on our thanks for making our holiday just perfect and organizing Predator Ridge at such short notice, it really rounded the holiday of great and saved us a big headache in trying to make our own arrangements. They guys enjoyed the 27 holes at Predator Ridge as much and if not more than Bear Mountain which is saying something. We hope when in Canada next you will still be around and active in BC Golf Guide to organize our golf. Thanks again for making Canada so memorable.

Everything was set up for us at the courses and the hotel. You're one-stop / one-call service is really appreciated. As to the courses. The greens on Bear and Quail were playable but definitely still impacted by the 3 week old punching. The greens at Black Mtn were immaculate and that course may soon surpass the others as the best course in Kelowna. It's our favorite so far in the area. Thank you again and we'll be in touch next spring

Just wanted to let you know something about our group trip to Kelowna earlier this year. At the Quail course, we were all given a $10 credit because two tiny patches of green were roped off as unplayable. Essentially we all got a free sleeve of balls due to a very minor course issue. I (and the rest of my group) was totally impressed by this gesture by the Quail course...something many courses would not have done. That really made a positive impression on us. We in BC sometimes complain about service, but certainly not at the Quail course. They were top notch in every way. Thanks again, we are looking forward to next year's trip!

Hi Ross,

Just sending off another much deserved thank you to yourself for our recent Kelowna golf getaway last weekend. As usual, it was spectacular and everything went off without any glitches, etc. The weather even was surprising good with just one small shower over 4 rounds. All the courses were in mint condition and our guys thought they were in heaven each and every course!!!! We had one of our guys bail on the whole trip the night before....but it seemed to work much better with just 4 golfers as you can imagine. Thanks so much again for the excellent service you provide us each and every year. Looking forward to talking to you next year when we get to do it all over again!!! Thanks, Scott

PS. We are thinking of organizing a winter excursion as well.....perhaps Phoenix/ Palm Springs???? Do you or could you arrange something like that. It most likely won\'t be this winter but 2012 and beyond for sure.

The Dunes at Kamloops and Ross Marrington- BC Golf Guide have had a great business relationship since 2005. During this time I have seen BC Golf Guide grow as a company and has eventually turned in to one of our most popular booking avenues for our out of town guests. Having said that, this relationship has transpired due to a great personal relationship with the owner, Ross Marrington. Ross gets it. He attends our BCPGA trade shows and has built a personal relationship with the majority of the golf professionals in the interior of BC and beyond. His attention to detail on group size changes and communication with our staff is second to none, there are rarely any mistakes made on the entire booking/cancellation process. This relationship building has been imperative to business relations with myself and Ross and weve seen an increase in destination rounds due to continuing popularity of his company. Another attribute to BC Golf Guide is, Ross is the only Tour Operator owner that makes a conscious effort to bring his own personal group of 24-36 players to our club and others in the interior each year. This does not happen with other agencies and is a unique trait that Ross makes a conscious effort to bring extra revenue to the golf clubs he deals with, and we all appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Mike Porco, Former Director of Golf
The Dunes at Kamloops

Ross,

Another great trip in the books, thanks to you. Although I did manage to lose our three round low-net tournament by one stroke, which still sticks in my craw.

But the accommodations were good again, and the courses - wonderful. Tower Ranch and Black Mountain were delightful. Our final round was at Black Mountain, and the course was in great shape, the staff were friendly, and the clubhouse an excellent place to wrap up the proceedings.

Our third consecutive fantastic trip booked through bcgolfguide.com!

Thank you again for fixing the shuttle at the last minute. I know that it was not for want of effort on your part, and I appreciate your diligence in helping correct the problem for us.

We will likely return to the Okanagan next year, but I think we will be looking for different accommodations in future. Perhaps a couple multi-bedroom condos at the same complex or a rental house with enough beds to have our own deck space/patio, and perhaps a barbecue.

Further, the Delta Grand, though the rooms are fantastic and beds great - they don\'t have Golf Channel. As our trip always coincides with the Open, in future we will need access to the highlight loop so we can keep abreast of these important matters.

Thanks for arranging a great Okanagan golf trip. Everything went completely smooth, no glitches with anything, including the weather. Of the 9 courses played, our favourite 3 had to be Tobiano, Predator Ridge and Tower Ranch with Gallaghers Canyon, Okanagan Quail and the Rise just behind them. Sun Rivers was mostly interesting but had a few contrived holes that were quite easy to lose a ball on even after a good shot down the middle. Black Mountain was interesting but felt a bit jammed into too small an area. The Dunes was fun but not as interesting as some of the mountain courses. Thanks again for the great arrangements, we'll certainly use you again for our next trip to the west.

I wanted to thank you for helping pull together another excellent golf trip to Kelowna.

I have been \"chairman\" of our annual golf trip since its inception 8 years ago. This summer (2010) was our second trip to Kelowna, and the second time I relied on you to orchestrate the hotel bookings, tee times, and ground transportation.

Once again, I was impressed by your professionalism and attention to detail. Your course recommendations over the past couple years, including the Bear, the Quail, Predator Ridge, Gallagher\'s and Shannon Lake, have all been well received by the guys. In fact, this year was unanimously tagged as the \"best\" and \"most memorable\" of all the previous trips by my friends.

As it will fall on me to plan our 9th annual trip next year, I have no doubt that we will be returning to Kelowna for the third consecutive year...and I will be in touch early in 2011 to start putting that together with you again.

Thank you again - A. Keats

Danny, thanks again for your help with our Bend Oregon trip. Everything went great.

Caleb Anderson took an interest in our entire trip and made every effort to make us feel welcome. The bookings with the other courses went like clock work.

The recommendations were spot on. Tetherow was terrific, though the greens were recently sanded so we missed out on what are reputably beautiful and fast greens. Brasada was a real contrast to Tetherow. It\'s another beautiful course with a completely different feel. Huge views and lots of decisions involving changes in elevation. The wildfires in the area partially obstructed the view of the mountains, but the views were still great.

The Nicklaus course at Pronghorn was our favorite. It\'s a beautiful desert course that doesn\'t overpower the desert. Rather, it lets the desert in to serve as part of the landscape. Nicklaus is a thinking man\'s designer. You\'re never sure you see all the options or all the possible consequences. If your shot is below average there is likely to be a consequence. There were no lucky misses. We (including a 3 and a 6) were all mentally tired after the round. We have great respect for Nicklaus after playing his courses at PGA West, La Paloma and Pronghorn.

We have a gift to send to you. What address should we use? Is there a carrier that works best from USA to Canada? Thanks, again. We\'ll be back.

We enjoyed the Osoyoos CC, desert course, as the weather was perfect. We golfed Monday in thunder and pouring rain at Inkameep, with a couple from our own course in Richmond.
